Popular Nigerian gospel musician, Prince Gozie Okeke, has been on the news after he was reported to have honoured an invitation from a popular Anambra herbalist identified as Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki Oba, to perform in an event.
In a video shared online, the singer could be seen singing, while the native doctor sprays wads of cash on him.
The video which was shared online has caused a lot of reactions after it went viral, and got many social media users lambasting the singer for honouring the invitation from the herbalist.
While the singer is yet to release an official statement as regards the video making waves on the internet, many people have questioned why the he choosed to perform in such an event.
Did he attend the event for his personal gain or he went to propagate the gospel? These are questions one may be tempted to ask after seeing the renowned gospel singer, performing in an event hosted by a traditionalist.
The gospel singer who has earned himself a good name for impacting lives through gospel music, appearing on the news for honouring an invitation from a traditionalist who does not share the same faith with him, will rather hamper on the good reputation he has been able to build over the years.
Although it is generally believed that music is “a general language of mankind” it is imperative to note that the gospel music is a distinct genre of music that is aimed at propagating the message of the Bible, so whoever is in the line of gospel music must understand that his/her choices of where and where not perform matters a lot.
