Considering that RAW and SmackDown are doing around 1.5 million at the moment, the disparity is not nearly what many people originally imagined.
AJ Styles turned 43 last month, but he is still right at the top of his game with classics against Daniel Bryan and having The Undertaker’s final match at WrestleMania all in the past few months.
Styles has said before that he believes he has signed his final contract with WWE and will retire when it expires, but he has also recently suggested that his body has a few more years operating at the level it currently is.
Considering the vast amount of friends he has in AEW right now from his TNA and New Japan days, could Styles have a stint there before his time is up?
“As far as AEW is concerned, never say never, right?” Styles said on his Twitch stream when asked about the possibility of joining AEW.
“But, I think once my career is done, I’m hopefully just going to work for WWE in some capacity. What would I do?
“I’d like to be a recruiter, go scout some guys, I think that would be fun. I would have no problem going to the Indies. I know we have scouts going to weightlifting contests and what not to get these big guys.
“I want to get guys and girls who have wanted to do this their whole life, give them some advice, check up on them from time to time, and help them get to the next level or the Performance Center.
“I think that’d be cool, to help somebody and see if they’re coachable,” Styles said.
While Styles envisions working for WWE when he can’t compete in the ring anymore, he admits the people in AEW are near and dear to his heart.
