Ikezue Kingsley Nnadi, a 400 level medical student of the University of Calabar, has been arrested by the Security men of the school. The suspect was arrested over alleged cultism and illegal possession of firearms at the students’ hostel along Moore Road after some intelligence reports about his nefarious activities in the hostel. The Chief Security Officer of the institution (CSO), Jarlath Abang said, “Ikezue who is suspected to be a cult leader, had forcefully occupied the Hall Chairman’s room at the hostel and refused to vacate despite several appeals from the security unit. The suspect was arrested at about 2.am, by men of the security unit who were on a normal routine check of hostels. But prior to his arrest, there were sporadic gunshots in the hostel and this is what prompted us to swing into action.’’ Abang said items recovered from the suspect included: a locally made pistol, cartridges, charms, hard drugs, Indian Hemps, Aye Confraternity flag, various identity cards, among others.
